Hi, I'm Kevin Callahan,
A 25 year old adventurer and artist, based out of Aspen, Colorado, where I spent most of my childhood. The mountains are my home, and the wilderness & wildlife are where I draw my inspirations from. I began drawing at an early age, as a result I would say graphite is probably my most favorite medium to work through. I also enjoy painting, mostly digital but I do use traditional methods as well. Photorealism/hyperrealism, and animal portraiture are my go to genres. I got into photography more recently - I mainly like to focus on the beauty of nature and animals. And yes, I realize that photography is also considered artwork, but I felt it necessary to separate the work I do with my hands from what I do with my camera (how else would you know it's a drawing and not a picture, right?) |
Besides that, I have a BS in Organismal Biology, and currently work as an EMT and ski patroller at Buttermilk Ski Resort. If I'm not doing art, I often spend my free time outdoors hiking, biking, skiing or snowshoeing. I live for backcountry trips with close friends, but I also enjoy my fair share of solo excursions as well.
